A New Era of Teamwork: Atlassian and Hypothesis Combine Forces to Streamline Digital Collaboration

By Julie Schochet | 21 July, 2023

SAN FRANCISCO, April 19, 2023 – Today, Hypothesis, the pioneering open-source annotation platform, and Atlassian, the renowned developer of popular productivity software, announce a revolutionary partnership designed to transform the way teams collaborate and share knowledge digitally.

By integrating Hypothesis’s annotation capabilities into Atlassian’s products, including the likes of Jira, Confluence, and Trello, this strategic collaboration will seamlessly blend content, communication, and teamwork across any online platform. This integration will transform all web-based interactions into opportunities for secure team collaboration.

“Until now, team collaboration tools and productivity software have existed in silos, making it difficult for teams to work together effectively,” said Dan Whaley, Founder of Hypothesis. “Our partnership with Atlassian, a leader in team collaboration, will allow us to bring everything together in one place, revolutionizing the way teams communicate and collaborate online.”

To kick off the collaboration, Hypothesis’s annotation tool will be integrated into Atlassian’s Confluence in Q3 of 2023. This will allow users to comment, share content, and conduct conversations not just within Confluence pages, but across the entire web, breaking down barriers and fostering truly seamless collaboration.

“This integration empowers teams to communicate effectively and work more efficiently together, all within a single platform,” said Mike Cannon-Brookes, Co-Founder, and Co-CEO of Atlassian. “It’s a game-changer for teams that collaborate both inside and outside their company, and we’re excited to see the transformative effect this will have on the way people work.”

This exciting news was unveiled during a keynote at the recent Atlassian Team ‘23 conference in Las Vegas, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement.
