A new way to catch up on updates

Whether you’re annotating a single document in a large group, or you’re annotating a page at the same time as another Hypothesis user, you can now see if any updates are available, apply the updates, and read through them without disrupting your annotation experience. Previously, if annotations came in while you were reading or commenting, they would rearrange the sidebar in ways that disrupt your workflow and context.

How it works:

Whenever you’re making annotations, if other Hypothesis users are also making annotations on that page at the same time, you’ll see a red update button appear on the top bar. (see image above). Click the update button, and you’ll be able to see any new annotations appear in the sidebar. You can also sort annotations by newest first, so that any new annotations that are made will appear at the top of the list (see image below). Just click on the sort symbol, and a you can choose to sort by date, or by the location of annotations on the page.
