Meet Via

By bigbluehat | 6 March, 2015

We’ve streamlined adding your thoughts to the Web. Our new home page features a field for pasting in any URL and annotating it.

We call this system Via.

Via simplifies the sharing and creation of annotations, highlights, and comments without the need of a browser extension or bookmarklet.

Once you’ve left an annotation on a page, you can copy the URL in the location bar of your browser to send to friends, colleagues, facebook friends, twitter followers, people on reddit, etc.

All of this was made possible the work of Ilya Kreymer, who sent us a demo of his pywb project featuring the Hypothes.is sidebar on web archives. He effectively brought a feature from our long term roadmap into the present. We couldn’t be more grateful.

You can try Via by clicking the “Paste a link” button at the top of the page.
